French travel clock / carriage clock with calendar complication. In the nineteenth century, the European aristocracy consistently traveled with a travel clock in their luggage to keep time even on the road. This classic French travel alarm clock (officer clock) exudes that rich history and artisanal precision. The brass case features cut glass panels that beautifully display the mechanical timepiece from all angles. The enamel dial not only shows the time with Roman and Arabic numerals, but also includes two complications: a day display and a date display. At the top there is a viewing window through which the working escapement with ruby bearings can be admired. Completed with winding key and the characteristic handle. The travel clock stands 8 cm high and 5.5 cm wide. It is in very good condition and works well. The clock is carefully wrapped and shipped.
