Labronican painter Carlo Domenici (1897-1981) was born in Livorno and died in Portoferraio (Isola d'Elba). He is considered one of the leading exponents of the post-Macchiaioli group. Typical subjects are Maremman landscapes with animals and peasants, as well as the painting presented. The composition consists of an oil on panel depicting a henhouse where some hens scratch on the ground, two sheaves of hay, a farmwoman. Dimensions of the painting: 35 x 50 cm — Frame: 70 x 55 (the frame has a few small dents and normal signs of aging). Painting signed on the lower right. The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not form an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame will not be a valid reason for claims or order cancellations.
