Capodimonte - Figure - Danzatrice inginocchiata - Biscuit porcelain

Art Deco-style ceramic statuette The image focuses on the flowing, draped skirt, which has an organic and almost sculptural shape. Specific decoration details: 1. Signature: In the center, clearly visible on the white, glossy porcelain, there is a calligraphic, cursive signature in dark enamel (perhaps black or anthracite gray). It seems to read something like "Mario Sparone". (This confirms that the artist was probably Mario Sporone, known for his Art Deco figures). 2. Floral motifs: Around the signature, along the drapes of the skirt, there are stylized floral motifs. On the right, dark, almost black leaves are clearly delineated. On the left, leaves similar in shape appear, but in a warmer rust/terra-cotta color. Scattered among the leaves are small clusters of black dots, which could represent seeds or berries. 3. Base: The base of the statuette has a shaded, dark-gray and black decorative edge, giving it a solid and well-defined appearance. 4. Fabric: The rendering of the ceramic fabric is remarkable. The folds are soft and realistic, catching the light to make the material appear fluid and dynamic. Production period: The statuette dates from the mid-to-late 20th century, more precisely the 1950s to the 1960s. Style: It is a typical work of the Capodimonte tradition in the postwar period, reworking the elegance of sinuous forms with hand-finished decorations, glossy enamels, and floral or oriental-inspired details that were very fashionable in that decade.
