Pair of figurines signed by Gianni Merlo - White Porcelain in Capodimonte style - 1950s/1960s Gianni Merlo succeeded Luigi Giorgio Benacchio at the historic Bassano del Grappa manufactory TRIADE, but this piece is signed by the author alone. OPACe white biscuit ceramic, monochrome as requested in that period, in contrast with the previous ones painted perhaps too elaborately that made them Baroque. The white statues fit into a minimalist style even today without any problem, with proper lighting. Note the small vent holes Optimal condition, a tiny speck of dust that can be removed with delicate cleaning. A very small mark on the Pastor's hat, we are unsure if it has always been there (see photo "hat"). The Shepherdess (height 20 cm, weight 671 g, base diameter 11 cm), the Bagpiper with a fruit basket (height 20 cm, base diameter 11 cm, weight 729 g). The weight and wide base characterize a top-quality product, with dense casting and stability. Purchased in the 1950s, they have remained in the same family for 76 years.
