Capodimonte

Capodimonte

Immerse yourself in the splendor and refinement of European courts with this imposing group sculpture in Capodimonte fine porcelain. The composition portrays a young noblewoman caught in a moment of true intimacy and sweetness: elegantly reclining on an upholstered stool with curling legs, she offers a biscuit to her faithful little dog, which playfully rises on its hind legs, while a bouquet of freshly picked flowers rests on her lap. The Virtuosity of the 'Porcelain Lace' is clearly visible in the details of the neckline and the hem of the dress through the legendary technique of lace embedded in the liquid porcelain mass and fired at very high heat: an airy, millimeter-wide trellis, perfectly intact. The wide, ruffled skirt, draped in pale pink and sage tones, contrasts with the base shaped into baroque scrolls, finished with trims in genuine brilliant gold. Unlike serial reproductions, the matte biscuit undertones restore the texture of the skin and the softness of facial features with a mastery that only great workshop masters can imprint. The work still carries tied to the original cord its Certificate of Origin and Guarantee from the Principe manufactory, proof of its artistic paternity by Luciano Cazzola and of total authenticity. The Company (Porcellane Principe) was founded in 1975 in Vicenza (Veneto’s hub of excellence, cradle of the Nove and Bassano tradition). Porcellane Principe arose from the union of three masters of the sector: sculptor Luciano Cazzola, painter Lino Gobbi, and Sergio Traforetti. The company has inherited and elevated to an international level the strict standards of the Royal Factory of Capodimonte (founded in 1743 by Charles of Bourbon), maintaining the rigorous licensing of the crowned N trademark. Luciano Cazzola is universally regarded as one of the greatest Italian figurative modellers of the twentieth century. Trained at the Institute of Art, Cazzola has infused the rigid medium of porcelain with anatomical softness and verisimilitude in drapery and looks that recall the great baroque sculptures of Bernini. The creations of Cazzola and Porcellane Principe have been awarded in numerous international luxury and artistic craftsmanship salons in Italy, Germany (Frankfurt Trade Fair), and the United States, exporting the excellence of Made in Italy to private collections around the world.
