All auctions / Miscellaneous / Candleholder - Brass - English blaker

This object is an antique or vintage blaker (in English a chamberstick). This is a portable candelabra with a wide wax dish and a handle, that used to be carried to the bedroom (the 'blaker chamber') when there was no electric light yet. The specific mechanism with the sliding lever on the side of the shaft is a candle lift/push-up mechanism. It allowed you to push the candle upward as it burned down, so no precious wax was wasted and the candle stub could be easily pushed out at the end. The candlestick is made of metal with a dark patina, most likely patinated brass. Good condition, the lever still moves up and down a bit. Photos are part of the description. Well packed and shipped with tracking and trace code.
