Camille Rousseau (1949) – The Elegant Ladies and the Beach Cabins – Le Touquet-Paris-Plage This work shows a lively beach scene with elegantly dressed bathers gathered along the coast. Centrally, a few figures stroll across the warm sand, while around them other visitors enjoy beach life under colorful parasols. On the right, the characteristic beach cabins form a particularly charming element in the composition. Rousseau combines warm ocher and sand tones with fresh accents in red, blue, green and white. The bright blue sky with broad, loosely painted clouds gives the small scene surprisingly a lot of space and light. In the background, the sea and a few sailing boats add depth and a pronounced maritime atmosphere. The painter uses a loose, impressionistic brushwork with visible strokes and locally applied, paste-like paint. Especially the clothing, parasols and beach cabins are built up with quick, sure strokes. This gives the work a spontaneous liveliness that fits well with the nostalgic depiction of French beach life. The painting is signed lower right "Rousseau" and is presented in a richly decorated gold-colored frame, which nicely complements the classical French character of the scene. including certificate Artist: Camille Rousseau (1949) Title: Les élégantes et les cabines de plage – Le Touquet-Paris-Plage Provenance: France Technique: oil on wood panel Style: impressionistic Subject: bathers, parasols and beach cabins on the French coast Signature: signed lower right Dimensions including frame: approx. 25 × 20 cm Dimensions without frame: approx. 18 × 13 cm Frame: richly decorated gold-colored frame The painting is carefully packaged and shipped with track & trace.
