Ca. AD 500 - 600. A bronze incense burner with a deep hemispherical bowl on a low ring foot. The exterior is decorated with closely spaced vertical ribs beneath a plain rim. Three suspension loops secure long linked chains gathered beneath a domed fitting with a baluster finial and terminal loop. For similar see: British Museum number 1994,0610.13 Size: 310mm x 85mm; Weight: 380g Provenance: Private collection of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; formerly with Allison Barker, 1990s�2007. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
