All auctions / Ethnographic / Burmese amber - Amber - Collection of 5 Natural Amber...
Fascinating collection of five polished natural amber specimens, each containing visible insect inclusions. Together, the pieces offer a remarkable glimpse into an ancient ecosystem, preserving small organisms that became trapped in tree resin millions of years ago. The specimens display attractive shades ranging from bright golden yellow to deep honey and cognac, with varying degrees of transparency. Each piece contains one or more inclusions, including winged insects and other small arthropods, some of which show clearly visible anatomical features such as wings, legs and body structures. The five pieces have been individually polished to enhance their transparency and allow the inclusions to be observed from different angles. Natural internal structures, organic debris, flow lines and variations in colour remain visible, giving each specimen its own unique appearance. Amber is fossilised tree resin renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve delicate organisms and traces of ancient environments. Inclusions such as these make every piece a small natural time capsule and are particularly appreciated by fossil, amber and natural-history collectors. This varied assemblage combines scientific interest with strong aesthetic appeal, making it ideal both as a collectible group and for display. Lot: 5 amber specimens Inclusions: Various insects and small arthropods Colour: Golden yellow, honey and cognac tones Condition: Polished, with visible natural inclusions Each specimen is unique in shape, colour and internal preservation.
