NOTARIES and CLERKS. 1773. “Decree of the King’s Council of State, ordering that notaries, clerks, and others transcribe in full, in the certified copies or extracts of the deeds they issue, the receipts or statements of duties that have been affixed to the original documents, and that they shall include therein the name of the clerk, the name of the office, the amount of the sums paid, and the date of verification and registration, on pain of a fine of two hundred livres for each omission.”.
