Bulova - Frank Sinatra Collection - New Edition 37 mm - New Edition

Men's Bulova Homage & Collaborations Frank Sinatra Watch Welcome to our GOLD&WATCHES store, an officially authorized Bulova retailer. The Bulova Homage & Collaborations Frank Sinatra men's watch embodies the perfect synergy between the brand's historic watchmaking craft and a contemporary design of absolute prestige. This model is ideal for the man who seeks an iconic, reliable accessory that is perfect for any occasion. Bulova and Frank Sinatra shared a long history. There were numerous collaborations between the Brand and The Voice, who never hid that Bulova watches were among his favorites. Not by chance did the Frank Sinatra Show air sponsored by the Brand and known as “Bulova Watch Time.” A artistic partnership that the American company has realized in the Bulova Sinatra Collection, launched in 2020, which over the years has grown with many references. Initially inspired, in name, by some of Sinatra’s immortal hits and in style, by watches from the 1950s and 1960s often worn by the crooner, the Bulova Sinatra Collection watches evolved over time, yet always keeping a mechanical heart that has endured to today. With the most recent extension of a collection that benefits from the collaboration of the Frank Sinatra Foundation. That Bulova has a close connection with American music of the second half of the 20th century is confirmed also by the watch dedicated to Tony Bennett. With Sinatra, however, the relationship is tighter and longer. The new watch from the Frank Sinatra Collection echoes in its balanced and essential lines a historic 1967 model called Banker C, elegant as the famous Fedora hat that The Voice used to wear. As with references from previous collections, the inspiration here comes from music: not so much from a single song, but from a collection of tracks published in 2008, ten years after the artist’s death: Nothing But the Best. The steel case measures 37 mm in diameter and is 10.25 mm thick. The shape is tonneau, but the dial is round, as in Banker G which the watch is inspired by. For this piece of the Bulova Sinatra Collection, the Maison conceived a dual finish for the case, in gold tone or steel, with a matching tone for the buckle. Among the two, the gold tone is, in my view, decidedly more interesting; by carefully shaping form and finishes and maintaining a balanced overall aesthetic, Bulova has managed to avoid a vintage or “grandpa’s watch” look, giving this piece a contemporary and elegant appearance. Also contributing is the dial, where the most significant work was done and which, in effect, is the most interesting part of the entire watch. In the steel-cased version it is white, in the gold-tone version it is silver: but it is not so much the color choice that is meaningful as the finishing. Bulova adopted the so-called crosshair dial style, popular precisely in the 1950s and 1960s, but rendered in a personal and original way. The crosshair dial was mainly distinguished by a central cross that divided it into four quarters, as if it were a cake. Here, the cross is absent and the division into quarters is achieved through alternate guilloché decoration, vertical in one sector and horizontal in the adjacent one. In this way, the whole yields movement, elegance and depth. This depth is accentuated by the Fedora silhouette engrave in bas-relief at 6 o’clock. A symbol of the singer which, in the previous watches of the Bulova Sinatra Collection, was printed. In terms of movement, Bulova has stayed true to its vocation of producing watches with strong aesthetic impact and reliability, paired with an affordable price. In the case there is caliber 8215, automatic of Miyota derivation, i.e., Citizen Group to which Bulova belongs. The movement operates at 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations/hour), has a unidirectional rotor, date function and about 42 hours of power reserve.
