Bruno Bani (1964) - Eclisse totale Foglia oro 40 x 40

Total Eclipse "Gold Leaf" 40 x 40- Bruno Bani (1964) Year: 2026 Color: Blue and gold Size: 40 x 40 x 7 Technique: Acrylic on canvas and Gold Leaf This extraordinary work by Bruno Bani, titled "Total Eclipse," perfectly exemplifies his ability to unite geometry and light to create fascinating and contemplative compositions. The piece is realized on two overlapping canvases, one painted in blue and a round canvas on top, decorated with gold leaf. The white LED light placed between the two canvases creates a suggestive eclipse effect, evoking the natural phenomenon with a unique simplicity and elegance. Note: the gold leaf reacts dynamically to external light. The incidence and direction of the light source can generate reflections and nuances that slightly vary the visual perception of the work depending on the viewing point. The geometry of the canvases is essential and precise: the lower rectangular canvas supports the upper circular canvas, creating a visual contrast that immediately captures attention. The circular shape, symbol of perfection and continuity, harmoniously integrates with the rectangle, representing a balance between the material world and the celestial. The use of blue and gold leaf expresses a timeless elegance. The blue, deep, contrasts with the gold, which adds a touch of luxury and brightness. The gold leaf on the round canvas reflects light magnificently, amplifying the effect of the white LED light emanating between the two canvases. This combination creates a magical atmosphere, transforming the work into a unique visual and sensory experience. "Total Eclipse" symbolically represents the astronomical event of an eclipse, a recurring theme in Bruno Bani’s works, known for his ability to evoke space and its mysteries through rigorous geometries and LED and UV lights. The LED light, with its softened glow, not only illuminates the work but also creates a depth and movement effect, making the eclipse visually tangible and immersive.
