Jewellery Type: bar brooch Condition very good condition Country of origin unknown Style Interbellum naturalistic jewellery – Although made around 1930, this charming little bar brooch does not speak the strict geometric language usually associated with Art Deco. Its insect motif, pearl body, rose-cut diamond wings and coloured stone detail belong instead to the naturalistic jewellery tradition especially loved in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, and still echoed in jewel design during the interwar years. Period ca. 1930 Source of inspiration Nature Theme a small naturalistic insect, perhaps a fly or a bee Material 18K yellow and white gold Diamonds Six rose-cut diamonds and senailles . A senaille is a simplified rose-cut diamond, usually a small diamond chip with only a few polished facets. As is customary in our trade, no weight is stated for these small rose-cut diamonds and senailles. - All diamonds in our antique and vintage jewellery, regardless of size or shape, are verified by the IJGC laboratory as natural.
