Bronze – Ritual Tantric Sceptre Vajra (Dorje – वज्र) with 4 Prongs – “Thunder & Diamond” – Absolute Power and Indestructibility. Used for centuries in Vajrayāna Buddhist traditions of Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and India, the Vajra, also called Dorje in Tibetan, is one of the most powerful symbols of tantric Buddhism. Its Sanskrit name वज्र (Vajra) means both “Thunder” and “Diamond,” two inseparable symbols of absolute power and indestructibility. The thunderbolt represents sudden awakening that dispels ignorance, while the diamond embodies the eternal and incorruptible nature of awakened mind. This ritual scepter is finely crafted in bronze. It features two symmetrical eight-pronged ends connected by a central sphere (Bindu), a symbol of the perfect unity between the material world and the spiritual world. The two ends are richly decorated with lotus petals, a universal symbol of purity, spiritual rebirth, and Enlightenment. Emerging from troubled waters while remaining immaculate, the lotus represents the ability of the being to transcend the sufferings of the world to attain wisdom. At the base of each branch are makara griffes, sacred mythological creatures of Hinduism and Buddhism, often described as hybrid beings combining crocodile, fish, elephant and dragon. Guardians of sanctuaries and protectors of sacred teachings, they symbolize the power of mastered cosmic forces as well as victory over obstacles and negative energies. From their mouths emerge the four branches of the Vajra, converging toward a central tip that embodies the unity of all forces in universal wisdom. In tantric tradition, the Vajra is generally associated with the ritual bell (Ghanta). Together, they represent the indivisible union of Method (Upāya – Compassion) and Wisdom (Prajñā), essential foundation of the path leading to Enlightenment. A major liturgical instrument of the vajrayāna masters, the Vajra is used during religious ceremonies, initiations, meditations, and purification rituals. It symbolizes the transformation of negative emotions into wisdom, the destruction of ignorance, inner stability, and the indestructible nature of the awakened mind. Regarded as an energy amplifier for spiritual power, it is traditionally kept as a talisman of protection, inner strength, balance and spiritual realization. - Specifications: Material: Bronze Type: Vajra (Dorje – वज्र) Shape: Double Vajra with 4 prongs - Traditional lotus and makara decor Dimensions: 90 x 28 mm Weight: 72.04 g A presentation case and a protective pouch will be included.
