A magnificent pair of sterling silver candlesticks from the George V period. They are in Corinthian column style with a stepped base, beaded borders on the scones, panelled columns, and very fine applied lion-mask decoration on each corner. Made in Birmingham, 1939 Made by Britton, Gould & Co Fully English hallmarked for sterling 925 silver. The dimensions of this pair of handmade antique silver candlesticks are: Height: 35.5 cm Base width: 12.5 × 12.5 cm Approx. 478 + 480 = 958 grams (unweighted, 30.9 troy ounces). (Sconces together weigh 88 grams). Condition: Very good condition. Both have a very small dent on the column. One sconce has a small hole (see last photo).
