Boston, Massachusetts. $2 1875. Fr. 391. State NB. Charter #1028. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. A quintessentially "American" design that was first introduced in the 1860s. The so-called "Lazy Deuce" managed to linger into the 1870s when the type and denomination was ultimately discontinued upon the resumption of specie payments in 1879. Now this particular example which was issued by the State National Bank of Boston (Charter# 1028) is not your typical example in technical terms. Assigned a numerical grade of "35" by PMG, this example also boasts bold signatures attributable to Casher Claudius Buchanan Patten and President Amos William Stetson which collectively amplify the many iconic elements of this design. PMG comments "New England Trim; Pinholes, Erasure." Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:$2,400
