**Antique Panda Bookends – Austria, Circa 1920–1940 – Decorative Pair on Green Bases** Give your favourite books some delightful company with these charming panda bookends. Two expressive pandas face one another, resting their front paws on the green supports as though they are guarding your book collection together. A playful pair full of character that immediately catches the eye. The black-and-cream panda figures contrast beautifully with the vivid green supports and bases. Their rounded ears, striking eyes, slightly open mouths and textured fur give them an endearing appearance. Visible signs of age in the painted finish add to their authentic, timeworn charm. This pair originates from **Austria and dates to circa 1920–1940**. Combining decorative animal figures with practical functionality, these bookends will appeal to collectors, panda enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates distinctive home accessories. **An Eye-Catching Addition to Your Book Collection** Place the flat supporting surfaces against the outer covers of the first and last books to create an attractive, neatly framed display. Four or five books make a lovely arrangement — more books can, of course, be placed between them. The pandas look particularly inviting alongside nature books, travel stories or classic literature. In a wooden bookcase, they introduce a cheerful splash of colour. In a bright interior, their contrasting colours and expressive design make them stand out beautifully. They also create an appealing focal point on a desk or console table. **For Panda Lovers and Collectors of Unusual Objects** With their unmistakable black-and-white appearance, pandas are among the most beloved animals. These bookends capture that appeal in a decorative pair with an engaging, almost storytelling quality. Their poses make them especially enjoyable to display with books between them. A charming addition to a collection of animal figures or antique bookends, and a thoughtful gift for someone who loves books, nature and objects with personality. **Object Details** - **Item:** a pair of panda bookends. - **Origin:** Austria. - **Period:** circa 1920–1940. - **Dimensions of each bookend:** to be confirmed. - **Colours:** black and cream, with green supports and bases. - **Condition:** visible age-related wear to the painted finish; please refer to the original photographs. **Photographs Form Part of the Description** The lifestyle images are provided for illustration and show possible display settings in different interiors.
