Book - Michelin - Guía Michelin Francia 1963 + documentos externos originales

Michelin Guide France – 1963 Edition, authentic exemplar of the famous red guide. Classic red cover with Bibendum holding a tire and a cane, and a price printed as 10 F, a clear sign of the original edition. See the photos that are part of the description. This copy also preserves a highly sought-after item for collectors: a yellow notice paper (“Dernière heure…”) pasted at the beginning, where Michelin informed travelers that hotel and room prices might have changed since the guide’s publication. A historic addition that documents the evolution of tourism in the 1960s. Highlighted content • Michelin classification system explained on the cover: • Comfort of hotels (from “great luxury” to “simple, but respectable”). • Comfort of restaurants. • Quality of the table: “merits a detour”, “worth the trip”, etc. • Prices (p.6). • Interior map visible in the photos, with routes and southern France cities (Marseille, Montpellier, Perpignan…). • Published by Pneu Michelin – Service du Tourisme, 97 Bd Pereire, Paris 17e. Why it is an interesting piece • Complete and original edition. • The yellow notice paper is a documentary bonus that does not appear in all guides. • Ideal for collectors of automobilia, tourism history, gastronomy, and vintage cartography.
