BMF dienblad met bloemendecor – sierlijke keramiek in een...

Oval BMF tray with floral decor – graceful ceramic in an openwork metal frame A tray that deserves to be seen! This oval piece combines a fresh floral decor with an elegant metal frame. On the ivory-white ceramic base unfolds a large white flower with soft pink accents, surrounded by leaves in various shades of green and elegantly curling tendrils. The raised metal rim forms a striking contrast with the flowing floral motif. Openwork circles with cross divisions and horizontal lines give the whole a rhythmic, geometric character. Two curved handles complete the design. At the bottom is a maker's mark with an eagle, the letters B–M–F and below an N, in keeping with Bayerische Metallwarenfabrik from Nuremberg. In addition, the embossed number 5065 is visible, presumably a model or form number. Comparable oval BMF trays with ceramic flower decoration and a metal frame are described as German designs from the twenties. The exact production date of this exemplar has not been established. A atmospheric object for enthusiasts of historic tableware, floral ceramics, and decorative items. Beautiful as a presentation tray for a coffee service or as a focal point on a sideboard. Features * Oval shape with two curved metal handles. * Ivory-white ceramic base with green, white and pink floral decor. * Openwork metal edge with geometric patterns. * Silver-colored frame; the exact metal type and any plating are not established. * Bottom marked with eagle, B–M–F and N. * Embossed number 5065, presumably a model or form number. * Design with both floral and geometric influences. Condition Used condition with visible signs of use and aging. The metal frame and handles show scratches, dull spots, dark discolorations and localized wear. Along the bottom edge and at the fastenings of the handles there are also signs of wear. The ceramic base shows fine superficial scratches, small spots and localized wear in the decor. The underside also shows scratches and small dark specks. The maker's mark is partially faded, but the letters and the eagle are recognizable.
