Trained after World War II, he distinguished himself by his mastery of painting material, applying generous layers of paint to capture light. His works, mainly composed of seascapes and urban scenes, often convey the sunny atmosphere of the Midi in France, as reflected in his representations of Cannes. Exhibiting regularly alongside artists such as André Cottavoz and Robert Savary, he shared with them this search for figuration liberated by texture. Throughout his career, he succeeded in conveying daily life and movement with a singular chromatic sensitivity, thereby marking the French artistic landscape of the second half of the 20th century.
