Buzzetta / Beppe Buzzetta). The work belongs to the famous Sicilian plastic production devoted to traditional crafts and popular realism. The statue depicts an elderly fisherman dressed in typical folk clothes and headgear, whose face is modeled with intense expressiveness, etched with wrinkles recalling a life at sea. The element of the fishing net in fabric applied to the piece enriches the work, wrapping around the shoulder and resting between the figure’s hands, creating a strong sense of dynamism and three-dimensionality. On the circular terracotta base is visible the autograph signature engraved "G. Buzzetta". Under the base there is a paper label indicating provenance from a previous catalog/auction. Conditions / State of preservation: The work presents in good overall condition for its age.
