Benvenuto Botturi (certified Blot) - - Violin - Italy - 1969

This Violin has been certified by BLOT Violins Srl. of Cremona with Certificate 620-72/T6 (see photo of the certificate) It has not been played for several years, so before certification it was cleaned, new strings were fitted and my trusted luthier changed the bridge and replaced the sound post. The sound is fantastic, also because it was an orchestral violin and shows signs of wear. Description: Back: in two pieces of maple with medium-width flame, descending from the center to the sides, fairly regular. Top: in two pieces of spruce with medium-width grain, fairly regular. Ribs and Scroll: ribs of maple similar to the back, Scroll (not original - in these years I was told that Botturi refinished the scroll, but did not build it) of maple with tighter flame than the back. Varnish: dark orange-brown, heavily touched up. The violin is authentic in all its main parts, with the exception of the scroll. It is sold together with its original bow (restored) and with its original leather or faux-leather brownish case, interior lined, with space for 2 bows. The shape of the case is that of the violin.
