Beatles - Something New (UK Export) – 1969 Rare One EMI...

A strong example of one of the more unusual UK Beatles export LPs: the 1969 One EMI Box Parlophone pressing of Something New, issued under catalogue number CPCS 101. Something New was never part of the standard British Beatles album catalogue. It originated as a Capitol compilation for overseas markets, and EMI subsequently manufactured a dedicated UK export version under the CPCS series. The One EMI Box version dates from the later export production period and is substantially scarcer than the regular domestic Beatles LPs from the same era. This copy is the corrected label variation. Early examples of the One EMI Box pressing mistakenly numbered "Slow Down" as Track 4 on Side 1, resulting in two consecutive tracks numbered "4". EMI subsequently corrected the label so that "Slow Down" appears correctly as Track 5, as on this copy. Another attractive manufacturing detail is the very early metalwork: Side 1 comes from 1 A and Side 2 from 1 R, meaning both sides derive from first mothers. Under EMI's GRAMOPHLTD stamper code, A = 3 and R = 2, giving a third stamper on Side 1 and second stamper on Side 2 — notably early production metalwork for this scarce export pressing. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original laminated UK export sleeve remains a very respectable VG+. There is some lamination creasing and a small amount of writing on the rear. Structurally the sleeve remains solid, and the front artwork still presents very attractively. Inner Sleeve: Original inner sleeve included, completing the period package. Labels: The Parlophone labels are particularly clean and well preserved, with only light spindle wear consistent with careful use. Vinyl (EX): The vinyl is in strong Excellent condition, retaining a deep original gloss and a very clean overall appearance.
