**Barbie Fashion Model Collection – Suite Retreat – Genuine Silkstone – Gold Label – Robert Best – 2005** A particularly stylish and now classic **Barbie Fashion Model Collection (BFMC) Silkstone**: **Suite Retreat Barbie**. This elegant red-haired collector doll belongs to the beloved original generation of Silkstone Barbies and was designed by the renowned Barbie designer **Robert Best**. Suite Retreat officially appeared in **2005** within Mattel's prestigious **Gold Label** collection and carries product number **G8078**. The packaging and documentation mention the original copyright period around 2004, which is why this doll is regularly listed on the collectors market as the **2004 Suite Retreat Silkstone**. The offered specimen is particularly attractive because not only the doll and the original box are present, but also the accompanying **original documentation and the Certificate of Authenticity**. In the photos you can see, among other things, the certificate, the Limited Edition documentation and the Gold Label packaging. Suite Retreat is made with the famous **Genuine Silkstone Body**. This heavier, high-quality construction was specially developed for the Barbie Fashion Model Collection and gives the classic Silkstone dolls their characteristic luxurious look. The doll features gorgeous voluminous **dark red/ auburn hair**, the elegant classic BFMC facial expression, and a refined vintage glamour aura. Her outfit consists of a luxurious cream-colored **charmeuse pyjamaset/loungewear**, finished with contrasting black piping. The jacket has sheer chiffon sleeves and faux-pearl details. The matching short pants and black high heels complete the ensemble. For this offered example, the **black shoes are still separately in the original small bag** and the **original black Barbie stand** is also present. These are important plus points for the serious collector, because especially loose accessories, stands and original documentation are often missing with older Silkstones. The photos also show that the doll is still in her original presentation packaging. The original Gold Label box is also present. Given the age, the box and packaging materials may show light signs of age and wear. Please study all photos carefully; they form an important part of the description and reflect the actual condition of this specimen. **Suite Retreat is now over twenty years old** and belongs to the early period of the Barbie Fashion Model Collection. It is precisely the combination of Robert Best design, the original Genuine Silkstone Body, Gold Label edition and the classic couture style that makes this BFMC generation highly sought after by collectors. That there is still interest in this edition is also shown by recent sales: a Suite Retreat sold in July 2026 for **US$170** and another specimen fetched **US$170 after 8 bids** at a collector's auction. These are, of course, market examples and no guarantee of the value of the offered specimen. **Details of this specimen:** Barbie Fashion Model Collection – Suite Retreat – Gold Label – Genuine Silkstone Body – designed by Robert Best – Mattel – official release 2005 – product number G8078 – original Gold Label packaging – original black stand – black shoes/accessories – Certificate of Authenticity and original documentation included. A wonderful opportunity for the **Barbie, BFMC and Silkstone collector** to add a characterful Gold Label edition from the classic period of the Fashion Model Collection to the collection. **An elegant Robert Best Silkstone that after more than twenty years still perfectly conveys why the original Barbie Fashion Model Collection remains so beloved by collectors.**
