Baiona Street. Signed. Basque School. 20th Century

Descriptio Ink and pastel drawing on paper. Dimensions: 50 x 39 cm and 53 x 42 cm. Urban view of a cobblestone street in the town of Baiona, with traditional Basque architecture in the foreground and a Romanesque tower in the background articulates the perspective. The use of blue pastel for the sky contrasts with the ochre tones of the paper and the black strokes of the drawing, generating an expressive and atmospheric effect. The textures of the walls, roofs, and shadows are treated with precision and spontaneity, evoking both the materiality of the environment and its everyday character. The legible signature situates the work in the contemporary Basque context, where the representation of urban spaces with a strong architectural identity is common. This drawing combines visual sensitivity and constructive rigor, in line with the regionalist aesthetic of the 20th-century Basque School. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
