Austin, Texas. Republic of Texas. 1840 $10. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ. No. 5837. Plate A. Offered here is a bright and well-margined example of a note issued under the short-lived authority of the Republic of Texas that has been assigned an uncommon grade by the likes of PMG. Bold colors and exceptional detail serve to enhance this distinction while the subtle cut cancellations typical of the type and issuer are easily overlooked when held against lesser examples that survive towards the middle of the grading spectrum. In all, this is the perfect example for the collector who places much in the way of emphasis on both quality and eye appeal should they seek to build a quality set of Obsoletes issued by the Republic of Texas. PMG comments "Cancelled." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.
