Austin Healey - 3000 MKII BN7 TRI CARB - 'NO RESERVE' - 1961

IN RISALTO * Equipped with Conformity Assurance Expertise Federperiti * A sole 355 produced, three-carburetor BN7 version * Retains black plates and original-page registration booklet * Former owner for over 58 years * Extremely rare preserved and original condition HISTORY / OVERVIEW The Austin-Healey 3000 MKII represents one of the most famous British grand tourers of the 1960s, appreciated for its elegant design, classic proportions, and sporting character. An evolution of the earlier 3000, the MKII is powered by a 2,912 cc inline-six engine, and only 355 examples were equipped with the rare and sought-after three-carburetor kit, making it the rarest Austin-Healey. This very rare example was delivered new in Italy to Belluno in 1961, then sold in Florence from 1967 and remained with its last owner for over 58 years, retaining its original black plates and page-count registration booklet. EXTERIOR The bodywork was repainted in the 1970s, maintaining the original red color combination as per the birth Heritage. The paintwork is still in generally good condition with some signs of aging for a car that has been preserved and never restored. The car has recently undergone a polishing and detailing treatment, which has enhanced its aesthetic appearance. The chrome fittings are in good condition and the factory details are well preserved and original. A gauge thickness check showed no signs of accidents. The undercarriage is generally very solid and original as expected for a well-kept, sheltered vehicle. INTERIOR The interiors are original, preserved and never restored, displaying a beautiful patina of time. The dashboard preserves the original instruments of the era, including the rare steering wheel. The canvas top is present and complete along with the various details. The cabin has recently undergone thorough sanitization, preserving the car’s maximum originality. MECHANICS The vehicle is equipped with the original engine as evidenced by the number on the birthplace data tag. The powerplant is in good condition, has recently been restarted with a new battery, starts easily, and the car can be driven on private property. However, the technical inspection has expired many years ago and normal ordinary maintenance before the next inspection may be necessary, for example brakes and tires are hardened.
