ATO electrically impulsed pendulum clock, circa 1930s, No. 500611, with a 5.5” cream dial with stylised Arabic numerals, blued steel hands and offset seconds branded 'Clairetta Carmaux', the movement mounted on the brass back plate is regulated by a swinging pendulum receiving periodic electrical impulses from an electromagnetic coil, in a rectangular wall mountable steel case, 16" high, 8.5" wide, depth 3" (glass missing) **Clairetta is a specific historic trade name used by the German clockmaking firm Haller & Benzing GmbH, located in Schwenningen, Germany. Haller & Benzing licensed the famous electromagnetic battery clock patents directly from Léon Hatot (ATO) in France ** From the David Read Collection
