Large freestanding onyx and brass ashtray with a fish motif – Hollywood Regency style – mid-20th century Description Elegant and imposing decorative freestanding ashtray, crafted in natural onyx and gold-toned metal (brass). The piece stands out for its particularly decorative construction. The round onyx base rests on an ornately detailed metal pedestal. It is topped by a superb stylized fish relief, forming one of the main decorative elements of the ensemble. The column alternates several elements of polished natural stone in cream, honey and brown tones, gold-toned metal parts, and a dark fluted element. The upper part features a wide onyx bowl with exquisite natural veining, complemented by a decorative metal handle. The combination of onyx and gold-toned metal, along with the slender silhouette, is characteristic of Hollywood Regency / Mid-Century decorative objects, particularly appreciated in European interiors in the mid-20th century. Each onyx element displays natural veins and color variations, giving the piece a unique character. Dimensions: Total height: 68 cm Diameter: approx. 17 cm Weight: 3.75 kg Overall good vintage condition, with age- and use-related marks compatible with its age. Please inspect the photographs which are an integral part of the description. An imposing and original decorative piece, ideal for a vintage objects collection, a Hollywood Regency interior, or as a decorative element.
