All auctions / Miscellaneous / Arzberg, Royal KPM Bavaria

Five white porcelain vases, middle of the 20th century This quintet of vases is an example of the refined German porcelain industry in the 50s/60s of the 20th century. The largest – also the most beautiful – vase, is from the Corsa cnospa series by Arzberg. Design from 1980 by Werner Búnck. The vase has an organic form: from the three knobs the top unfolds like a flower. Height 24 cm, top diameter 12 cm, bottom diameter 6.5 cm. A vase with a ‘thistle’ relief pattern in the porcelain, the broad foot tapers into a narrow neck. Has a small hairline crack. Underside marked: Tirschenreuth Bavaria. Height 24 cm, bottom diameter 9.5 cm, neck diameter 5.5 cm. A straight, eight-lobed vase with at the edge and at the rim sparse floral motifs below and above. Not marked but almost certainly Royal KPM Bavaria, blind mark 1077/20. Height 20 cm, diameter 7.5 cm. A vase with on the ‘belly’ a graceful relief pattern. Also not marked but likewise almost certainly Royal KPM Bavaria, blind mark 1044/19. Height 19 cm, belly diameter 9 cm, neck diameter 6 cm. The vase with a wide collar has subtle decoration at the neck and foot. Underside marked: Royal KPM Bavaria, blind mark 1610/14. Height 14 cm, bottom diameter 6 cm, top diameter 9.5 cm. Apart from the noted hairline crack, all vases are in good condition.
