Magnificent antique japonisant vase dating probably from the late 19th century or early 20th century (around 1890-1910). This fine-quality piece is made of patinated bronze or brass and features an elegant relief decoration of blossoming cherry branches (sakura), with contrasting metal highlights. The upper rim is adorned with a motif imitating braided wicker, while the vase rests on a superb openwork base of Oriental inspiration. The whole exudes a great deal of charm and testifies to the taste for Japanese art that marked the Belle Époque.
