Art Deco ovaal dienblad met rozen – keramiek en opengewerkt metaal – ca

Art Deco oval tray with roses – ceramic and pierced metal – ca. 1920–1935 A particularly decorative Art Deco tray from the interwar period, in which a romantic floral decoration is combined with the clean lines of a pierced metal gallery edge. Centered is a large cream-colored ceramic plate, richly decorated with a bouquet of roses in deep red and burgundy tones, complemented by a striking yellow-cream rose and fresh green leaves. The soft shading around the flowers gives the motif extra depth and a beautiful, almost painted look. Around it there is a raised metal gallery edge with a repeating pattern of slender vertical openings. On both sides are large, simply formed handles. It is precisely the combination of ceramic, metal, geometrically pierced edgework and floral decoration that is characteristic of European serving trays from the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s. At the bottom there are various production or decorative markings, including the green-painted number 4287 and a legible impressed mark. A atmospheric piece that can be used not only as a serving tray, but also looks stunning on a sideboard, dresser, coffee table, or as a decorative centerpiece in a vintage or classic interior.
