Exceptional sculpture representing a Japanese fisherman, Asian figure, signed by Arnaldo Giannelli in 800 silver-plated sheet. Arnaldo Giannelli, born in Volterra in 1907 and a promising student of sculpture from a young age, earned his diploma from the “Royal School of Arts.” In 1944 he opened his own studio, producing commissioned pieces also for the Allied Forces. From 1953 to 1961, he served as president of the Alabaster Artisans Cooperative, with over 800 members. Among his most famous works are the bust of Dwight D. Eisenhower, for which he received the personal thanks of the American President; a totem commissioned by Mirko Basaldella for University; and the bust of the President of Kenya, commissioned by Prof. Fioravanti of Rome. For this professional activity, Arnaldo Giannelli was awarded the title of “Knight of the Republic” in 1970. In more than 40 years of activity, the company has undergone several transformations to meet different market demands and with the aim of updating and improving manufacturing systems, while always remaining faithful to the typical process of Italian artisanal workmanship. The works are crafted by hand in Italy and are distinguished by the distinctiveness of their modeling, the exclusive chiaroscuro effects, and the quality of the materials used. A harmonious synthesis of originality, refinement, and creative flair makes each work unique in its kind, highly appreciated by all art lovers, by those who value quality, and by an increasingly broad and heterogeneous international audience. Being an authentic vintage piece, it represents an elegant testament to the past and may show light signs of aging, elements that add charm and authenticity to its history.
