Armchair (2) - Wood - Chinese faux bamboo

Elegant mid-20th-century chairs, with a pronounced Chinese Chippendale and Chinoiserie influence, made of solid carved and turned wood in faux bamboo imitation. They stand out for their distinctive architectural-line structure and the elaborate cross-shaped geometric backrest, integrated within a round-edged wooden frame that reproduces the characteristic bamboo knots. The top of the backrest features three delicate longitudinal grooves, while the rear joints are reinforced with triangular wooden braces, adding both structural solidity and ornamental interest. The structure preserves a warm honeyed amber finish, with a warm patina typical of mid-century furniture. The set is completed with seats upholstered in a deep turquoise/aqua green, trimmed in green, mounted on a traditional textile-strap frame. This is a representative example of Western mid-20th-century taste for reinterpret­ing elements of oriental architecture and furniture, especially bamboo, through carpentry and carving techniques.
