Ardbeg Blasda - 70cl

Ardbeg Blasda – Limited Release – 70cl – 40% – Original Box Description This lot consists of one bottle of Ardbeg Blasda, a limited-release Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky produced and bottled by Ardbeg Distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. Blasda is a particularly distinctive Ardbeg expression, created to explore a much lighter level of peat than the distillery’s traditional heavily peated style. The whisky was released in 2008 and was peated to an average level of approximately 8 parts per million (ppm), considerably lower than the typical peat level associated with Ardbeg. The name “Blasda” comes from Gaelic and means “sweet and delicious”, reflecting the lighter and sweeter character intended for this expression. The original presentation box describes the whisky as “lightly peated” and explains the concept behind this release. A particularly recognisable feature of Blasda is its clear glass bottle, rather than the dark green glass normally associated with Ardbeg. The clear bottle and specially designed black presentation box make this release immediately distinguishable from the standard Ardbeg range. The bottle shown is accompanied by its original black presentation box, with the original Blasda artwork and descriptive text. The box specifically describes the whisky as a lightly peated Ardbeg and refers to the approximately 8 ppm phenol level. The bottle has the original dark closure and appears unopened, with the original tax/excise seal still present over the closure. The spirit level is clearly visible in the photographs.
