Primo GMT Bronze is a diver’s watch built with a material that almost no one really uses: solid marine bronze CuSn6, the alloy employed in the naval environment to resist seawater. Not a coating, not a surface treatment applied to steel: the case, bezel and crown are bronze through and through, from the outer layer to the core. This is what makes each specimen different from all others. Bronze reacts to air, to skin, to salt spray, and over time develops a patina that no other watch will share: it darkens in the engravings, lightens where the sleeve abrasion polishes it. Those who buy an Arcaido do not buy a finished object, but an object that keeps evolving. The GMT function allows reading a second time zone thanks to a fourth central hand, paired with the 24-hour scale printed on the dial: home time remains on the main hands, the second time zone is read on the 24-hour scale, with quick time zone and date adjustment. A tool designed for travelers who want to keep two times on view. Construction is that of a true instrument. Three hundred meters of water resistance, unidirectional 120-click bezel with matte black ceramic insert — raised numbers and scale, a material that resists scratching and staining — anti-reflective sapphire crystal, black dial with applied indices and Swiss Super-LumiNova BWG9, white in daylight and blue in the dark. The exhibition caseback in 316L steel with sapphire lets you observe the automatic Swiss movement at work: circular graining, blue screws and a personalized IP black rotor that spins with every wrist movement. It’s a finish usually not found in this price range, and here it is not hidden under a closed caseback. The strap is Made in Italy leather, hand-stitched and interchangeable thanks to two removable end-links.
