"Toi-et-moi", you and me - this French term is used to describe rings that make two precious stones the equal protagonists of the design. Napoleon already adored Joséphine with such a ring to seal their romantic alliance. The two gemstones were intended to represent the two lovers, individual and yet united, each fully-fledged in their own right and yet complementing each other. In this ring, two old-cut diamonds together weighing around 1.45 ct fulfill this symbolic function. They are presented in individual proportions and gentle brilliance. They are set in platinum to further enhance their white light. The curved ring shoulders on the right and left are also set with diamonds in platinum, making the ring look like a composition of two white bands when worn. The ring is in very good condition and beautifully crafted. It was most likely made in Germany around 1910. We discovered it in Munich and had a detailed appraisal carried out.
