In the late 19th century, the solitaire diamond became one of the most popular styles of engagement rings. In the 1880s, Charles Lewis Tiffany popularized a setting that raised the diamond high above the band with delicate prongs to maximize its brilliance by allowing more light to enter: the Tiffany engagement ring was born. This ring also follows in that tradition, though it was created during the Art Deco era—the time of the bob haircut and cabarets. The diamond weighs approximately 0.50 ct and features a diamond shape. It has a fine white colour and only minor inclusions (SI). Two platinum prongs lift the diamond in its delicate bezel setting to allow as much light as possible to reach it. The lower part of the ring band—crafted in gold, as was typical of the era—is slightly wider than the upper part of the ring, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. At the same time, it lends the ring a certain warmth, making it look good on many skin tones. This ring, now nearly a century old, is ready to begin a new chapter. We discovered it in England, where it was originally crafted.
