This beautiful oil on canvas painting by Jane Vivian (Active 1869-1890) beautifully captures a stunning Venetian Scene, The Doges Palace, Circa 1880 in date. The Doges Palace is a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice in northern Italy. The palace included government offices, a jail, and the residence of the Doge of Venice, the elected authority of the former Republic of Venice.
