Antique Needlepoint of Ladies Collecting Water

Mid-19th century, wool, silk, and glass beads, worked in tent stitch, depicting an oriental landscape with a distant palace and women collecting water from a garden pool inhabited by swans, nailed to a wooden stretcher, unframed. 26 1/4 x 80 in. Very fragile condition, with several tears to foundation; loss to edges and stitching; fading and discoloration.
