A particularly charming antique wooden serving tray, dating from circa the 1930s, distinguished by its exceptionally intricate hand-carved decoration and warm honey-brown colour. The generously decorated surface features an elaborate symmetrical composition of floral rosettes, star motifs, radiating patterns and geometric borders, all executed in traditional kerf-cut carving. The fine carving creates a beautiful contrast across the surface and gives the tray an especially rich and tactile appearance. The tray is further enhanced by its integrated carved carrying handles, elegantly shaped into both short sides. Its warm natural wood tones, aged surface and beautifully preserved carved decoration give it the character and presence of an authentic early 20th-century folk-art piece. The tray is in excellent antique condition, with natural signs of age and use. There are some minor imperfections and small areas of wear or damage to the wood and edges, consistent with its age. The tray remains stable, while the aged surface contributes to its authentic character and attractive patina. Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description. A beautifully decorative and functional piece of traditional folk art, equally suited to display or practical use. Its intricate hand carving, warm patina and architectural country-house appeal make it an attractive addition to a collection of antique serving pieces, folk art or traditional woodcarving. The item will be carefully packaged and securely shipped with Track & Trace.
