Ancient altarpiece or table crucifix in full Neo-Gothic style (Gothic Revival), datable to the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The brass structure features a splendid dark patina and an original time-worn patina that has not been intentionally polished, thus preserving the piece's authenticity and historical charm. In the points of greatest relief the warm golden tone of the underlying metal emerges. The three upper arms of the cross terminate with the characteristic square geometric elements that enclose a refined trilobed tracery, an explicit homage to medieval Gothic architecture. The figure of Jesus presents detailed casting and a well-defined anatomy. The cross rests on an elegant inlaid base with foliate motifs, which is in turn fixed to a solid squared block of light stone/marble that guarantees excellent stability.
