Antique wooden side table – Amsterdam School style – with lower shelf A small table with a big sense of form! This characterful side table combines warm wood tones with an eye-catching interplay of wide supporting columns, slim vertical accents and rounded tops. The almost square top has softly rounded corners. Underneath, a second shelf offers space for a book, plant or decorative object. The broad wooden elements along the sides and the cut-out foot profiles make the design interesting from every angle. The design recalls the Amsterdam School: a Dutch design movement in which furniture often had an expressive, sometimes sculptural look. On this table, the decoration lies mainly in the construction and silhouette, not in added ornament. A fine combination of practicality and decorative power. The visible wood grain and the warm brown finish enhance the character. Beautiful next to an armchair, as a plant table, or as a standalone accent in an interior with vintage furniture. Features * Wooden side table with a beautiful, visible grain pattern. * Top and lower shelf with rounded corners. * Distinctive broad vertical supports with slim vertical accents. * Decoratively cut-out foot profiles. * Style: Amsterdam School influences / Dutch Art Deco. * Wood looks like oak; exact wood type not confirmed. * Designer, manufacturer and exact dating not established. Condition Used vintage condition with visible signs of wear. The top shows scratches, dark spots and localized wear of the finish. Also along the edges, on the supports and on the lower shelf there are signs of use. See the photos for a good impression of the condition and details. AAtmospheric sidetable where warm wood tones and quirky design beautifully complement each other.
