Anno 1832 : Oud Hollandse (medicinale) beker/bokaal met acanthusbladeren

Quite beautiful cup with acanthus leaf decoration. The silver is hallmarked with year letter X from 1832, Lion I, Minerva cup and the master mark JGG in a square. This master mark is by Jan George Grebe Jr. in Rotterdam. Probably it was used for medicinal purposes. Condition of the cup is excellent. See all the photos please (also for the dimensions) They are part of the description. Will of course be sent well packed. The acanthus leaf is an important plant motif in Mediterranean art, architecture and traditional medicine. It stands out for its aesthetic value, medicinal properties and cultural symbolism of eternal life and rebirth.
