About the Artist: Anne Dias is an American painter born in 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio. A 2015 graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she has taken part in several group exhibitions since her graduation. She paints in oil, with a rigor that borders on photographic realism, while layers and thicknesses assert the materiality of the canvas. Her work begins with photographic research in the rural areas of Europe and the United States, and returns in the studio to the encounters made there.
