Angelo Messina (XX-XXI) - Bien viser !

Original, impertinent and full of life, this oil painting on canvas depicts a row of children in nightgowns lined up with their backs to the viewer, playfully rehearsing in front of a window. The artist Angelo Messina here deploys a modern figurative style tinged with Expressionism. He skillfully plays with dynamic postures, the rounded silhouettes of children, and soft tones (greenish water, ochres, off-whites) contrasting with the comic and theatrical character of the scene. The effects of stylized water jets bring a rhythm almost calligraphic to the composition. For authentication: The work benefits from ideal traceability and documentation for collectors. It is signed and dated at the bottom left of the canvas (Messina ’02). On the back, the canvas bears its original, complete label from the Italian cultural company Accademia dei Folli (located in Trofarello), detailing the author’s name, the technique in oil (olio), the exact dimensions, and bearing the artist’s handwritten signature.
