The famous portrait of Elvis Presley by Andy Warhol in 1963 shows the singer wearing a cowboy outfit with a pistol in hand, taken from a promotional photo for the film Flaming Star (1960). Origin and Creation The exhibition: Warhol created these canvases for his show at the Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles in September 1963. The format: He sent continuous rolls with the image printed in silkscreen so that the gallery could cut and mount the pieces in various sizes. The message: By repeating the figure (as in Double Elvis or Triple Elvis), Warhol treated celebrity as an industrially reproducible product, empty and for mass consumption. The silver background simulated a cinema screen. Triple Elvis by Andy Warhol, iconic work with copyright Andy Warhol Foundation. Published in the early 2000s with copyright Andy Warhol Foundation for printing in Spain. In perfect condition, never exhibited. 43x34 cm. It comes from a collection in Spain. On high-quality, heavyweight, satin-finish paper. It is shipped perfectly protected and with a tracking code.
