About the painting: “Breeze (III)” evokes the quiet expanse of the ocean through a refined, minimalist composition. Soft whites, navy blues, and subtle washes of grey unfold across the surface like a distant horizon, while delicate vertical traces descend from the waterline, suggesting the shifting movement of water and the gentle passage of wind across its surface. The restrained palette creates a distinctly cool and serene presence, while the contrast between the calm horizontal horizon and the fluid vertical marks introduces a subtle sense of movement and depth. Balanced between abstraction and seascape, the work captures a fleeting moment on the water—an impression of cool air, distant light, and the ocean stretching quietly towards the horizon. Its spacious composition and understated gestures invite the eye to linger, creating a sense of openness, clarity, and tranquility. “Breeze (III)” brings the contemplative stillness of the sea into a contemporary space, while retaining a quiet feeling of movement beneath its serene surface. About the artist: Andreea Zecheru is a known abstract artist based in Hamburg, Germany. Many of her works are held in private and institutional collections across Europe and the US. “My work begins where the visible meets the felt—an attempt to capture the layers of perception and reduce them to their most essential, minimalist resonance. I approach the canvas as a field of relationships, exploring the duality between control and spontaneity, stillness and movement. Through an intuitive process of observation and response, I seek to create spaces that invite stillness and attention, allowing energy and clarity to coexist.” - Andreea Zecheru
