Roman Glass Bottle with Iridescent Surface – c. 2nd–4th Century AD Ancient Roman glass bottle with a rounded, almost spherical body, a long cylindrical neck, and a broad outward-flaring rim. The vessel is made of pale greenish to almost colourless glass and displays a pronounced silvery, pearlescent iridescence. The surface shows extensive age-related weathering, mineral deposits, and opalescent areas, giving the piece a particularly attractive ancient appearance. The shape, with its rounded body, elongated neck, and everted rim, is characteristic of Roman glass vessels from the Imperial period. A pontil scar / manufacturing mark is visible on the base. The vessel was free-blown. Small air bubbles and irregularities within the glass are consistent with ancient glass production techniques.
