Roman Bronze Key Ring – 1st to 3rd Century AD A Roman bronze key ring combining the functions of a finger ring and a small key. The upper section is formed by a rectangular key bit with several parallel projecting wards, designed to engage a simple locking mechanism, while the circular hoop allowed the object to be conveniently worn on the finger when not in use. Ring keys of this type were practical personal objects in the Roman world and were commonly associated with small boxes, chests, cabinets and domestic storage. The surface displays extensive age-related patination, mineral deposits and wear consistent with antiquity. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 2.1 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm Weight: 4.39 gr Provenance: Acquired in Germany at an Auction House. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
